Alice Aranha and Catarina Pica
Alice and Catarina, two young visual artists, came to us as a result of our informal partnership with Córtex Frontal, in Arraiolos, for a short stay, to (re)discover the magic of spinning and weaving.
Alice had a greater connection to working with threads, Catarina to expression through drawing. In a mix of surprise and curiosity, their eyes roamed the place, enjoying the interior and exterior spaces, from the textile studio, its looms, spinning wheels and diversity of fibers available, to the peaceful flock of white and black campaniças sheep, which are an integral part of this place. All this without going unnoticed by the curiosity of our donkey Sebastião and the mares Lua and Isa.
