Our beloved Alentejo sheep, our Campaniças, are shorn using the Bowen Technique, a method developed in New Zealand. Marty O’Connel is in charge of this meticulous and careful process. There are two base reasons for using this method in Vale de Gatos: to respect animal welfare and to preserve the quality of fleece.
